With Karl-Anthony Towns (knee) sitting out, New York's offense ran through Brunson on Friday. The All-Star floor general turned in his highest-scoring output since the Feb. 19 loss to the Pistons, reaching the 20-point plateau in his fourth straight game. Since the All-Star break, Brunson has averaged 23.3 points, 8.4 assists and 4.1 rebounds in 36.0 minutes per contest across 13 games.

Analyse
Jordan Clarkson's performance off the bench was eye-popping, but it was Brunson who set the tone offensively for the Knicks and posted a similar line to the one he had in the loss to the Clippers on Monday. This was Brunson's third consecutive game with at least 24 points and seven assists. He's averaging 22.1 points, 10.0 assists and 3.7 rebounds per contest since the beginning of March, a span in which he's racked up two double-doubles in seven appearances.

Analyse
Brunson had a solid outing and helped mount a few rallies in the second half, but it ultimately wasn't enough to upend the Clippers on the road. The stop in Los Angeles hasn't gone according to plan, as Brunson's 24-point outing wasn't enough to generate a victory against the Lakers on Sunday. The team will continue the grueling five-game road set Wednesday against the Jazz, and it's reasonable to expect continued strong totals from one of the league's elite point guards.
