Downward trend continues
Vassell provided eight points (2-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, five assists, one block and three steals over 31 minutes during Wednesday's 132-119 victory over the Lakers.
Analyse
Vassell scored single digits for the second straight game, continuing to feel the effect of the returning Stephon Castle. In two games since Castle's return, Vassell has averaged 6.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.5 steals -- well below his season numbers. While he will likely be better than this, it does appear that his high point may have come and gone.

Cools off Monday
Vassell chipped in five points (1-5 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and three assists over 27 minutes during Monday's 135-132 victory over New Orleans.
Analyse
With Stephon Castle returning to the lineup and Dylan Harper finding his stride, Vassell saw his usage rate dip Monday. The Spurs will also get Victor Wembanyama (calf) back in the near future, further increasing the competition for touches in San Antonio. Vassell remains a solid fantasy asset, however, as his ability to contribute across the board helps his case.

Vassell generated 28 points (8-16 FG, 7-13 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds, three assists and one block across 30 minutes of Friday's 130-117 loss to Cleveland.
Analyse
Vassell tied his season high with seven three-pointers, which he initially set Nov. 28 against Denver. After topping 20 points just once in his first 16 appearances this season, Vassell has cleared the 20-point threshold in four of his last six outings. During that six-game stretch, Vassell is averaging 22.5 points and 4.0 rebounds while shooting 51.6 percent from the field and 48.9 percent from three-point range.
