Simons logged 39 points (13-28 FG, 7-16 3Pt, 6-6 FT), four rebounds, four assists and one steal over 34 minutes during the Celtics' 119-114 win over the Heat on Thursday.
Analyse
Simons gave the Celtics the spark they needed to overcome a slow start to Thursday's game. He started out hot with 11 points in the first quarter, but he made his impact felt most in the fourth by tallying 18 of the Celtics' 36 points in the frame. It was a season-high scoring output for Simons and his most in a game since dropping 40 points against the Spurs on Jan. 26, 2024, while playing for the Trail Blazers. The 2018 first-rounder has become more comfortable in his bench role as the season has progressed, and in eight games since Jan. 1, he has averaged 18.3 points, 3.6 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 4.1 threes over 26.6 minutes per game.

Tallies 16 points off bench
Simons racked up 16 points (7-15 FG, 2-7 3Pt), three rebounds and four assists across 24 minutes during Monday's 98-96 loss to Indiana.
Analyse
Simons scored at least 15 points for the fifth time in the past six games, salvaging what was otherwise another empty night. While the scoring has been a little better, he has struggled to contribute elsewhere, averaging 3.5 assists with zero steals during that six-game span. At best, he should be viewed as a streamer for points and threes.

Strong play continues Friday
Simons finished Friday's 125-117 win over Toronto with 15 points (6-11 FG, 3-4 3Pt), five assists and two rebounds over 26 minutes.
Analyse
Simons scored 11 of his 15 points in the second quarter and led the Celtics' bench in scoring. The eighth-year guard has struggled at times while adjusting to his bench role with Boston, but he's strung together some nice games of late. He has scored at least 15 points in five of his last six outings, and over that span he has averaged 17.7 points on 51.4 percent shooting (including 57.4 percent from three on 7.8 3PA/G), 3.7 assists and 3.2 rebounds over 26.1 minutes per contest.
