Collects hit in return
Acuna went 1-for-4 with a run scored in Monday's loss to the Mets.
Analyse
Making his return from a seven-week absence due to a hamstring strain, Acuna slotted back in as Atlanta's leadoff hitter and laced a single off Zac Thornton in his first trip to the plate before coming around to score on an Ozzie Albies knock. Acuna has had a disappointing, injury-plagued season so far, and through 54 games he's managed a .251/.371/.417 slash line with seven homers, 15 steals, 22 RBI and 32 runs.

Reinstated from injured list
Atlanta activated Acuna (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Monday.
Analyse
Acuna has been cleared to return to action after missing more than a month with a left hamstring strain. He split time between right field and designated hitter while on a rehab assignment, but Atlanta plans for Acuna to go back to being its everyday right fielder.

Activation coming Monday
Atlanta will activate Acuna (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list prior to Monday's game against the Mets, Buster Olney of ESPN reports.
Analyse
Acuna has been shelved since mid-June with a left hamstring strain, his second hamstring-related absence this season. He played nine rehab contests, going 6-for-26 with one home run and a 6:6 BB:K. In 53 games with Atlanta this season, Acuna has slashed .251/.373/.421 with seven home runs and 15 stolen bases.

Could be back Monday
Acuna (hamstring) could join Atlanta in New York on Monday and return from the 10-day injured list for the club's series opener against the Mets, Grant McAuley of the Marietta Daily Journal reports.
Analyse
The five-time All-Star was believed to have a chance of rejoining Atlanta for Sunday's series finale in Baltimore, but he's not in the starting lineup and instead appears set to come off the IL a day later. Acuna landed on the shelf June 10 due to a Grade 1 left hamstring strain and was held out of game action for about a month before kicking off a rehab assignment during the All-Star break. The 28-year-old looks ready to rejoin Atlanta after compiling a .231/.364/.346 slash line with six walks, one home run and one stolen base in nine rehab games between the rookie-level Florida Complex League and Triple-A Gwinnett.

Not activated Sunday
Acuna (hamstring) isn't included in Atlanta's lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles and appears unlikely to be activated from the 10-day injured list until at least Monday.
Analyse
Acuna isn't believed to have experienced any setbacks with his left hamstring during his rehab assignment at Triple-A Gwinnett, but he'll get at least one day of rest after he went 1-for-3 with a walk while playing right field in one game of a doubleheader Saturday. Assuming the 28-year-old joins the big club on its upcoming road trip to New York, he could be back in the lineup for Monday's series opener versus the Mets.

Could be back Sunday
Acuna (hamstring) isn't expected to be activated from the IL until at least Sunday, Ian Quillen of MLB.com reports.
Analyse
A rainout Friday for Triple-A Gwinnett put a bit of a hiccup into Atlanta's weekend plans for their star right fielder as he wraps up a rehab assignment. Gwinnett has a doubleheader scheduled for Saturday, and MLB manager Walt Weiss didn't rule out Acuna playing both ends of it. "There's a chance he'll play both," Weiss said Friday. "I think it's two [seven-inning games]. There's a chance he'll play both. He'll let us know when he feels like he's ready to go." Atlanta planned to have the 28-year-old back in the big-league lineup this weekend, so a Sunday activation remains possible. Acuna has been sidelined since June 9, and over 53 games for Atlanta this season he's managed a .794 OPS with seven homers and 15 steals.

Expected back this weekend
Atlanta manager Walt Weiss said Thursday that he expects Acuna (hamstring) to be activated from the 10-day injured list before the end of this weekend, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Analyse
Acuna will play his eighth and likely final rehab game Thursday with Triple-A Gwinnett. A return to the active roster Friday is possible, though the club could elect to give Acuna a day to rest before activating him later in the weekend. The star outfielder has been sidelined since early June due to a Grade 1 left hamstring strain.
