Masataka Yoshida will serve as Boston's designated hitter Sunday, but he's generated a tepid .250/.331/.350 slash line on the season and could see his opportunities take a hit while Gonzalez has produced well since returning from the 60-day injured list June 28.

Analyse
Gonzalez went yard in the fifth inning to extend Boston's lead to 7-1. It was his first homer since coming off the injured list and his second consecutive game with two RBI. Gonzalez typically crushes left-handers, which is why he was in the lineup Saturday, but he's started four consecutive games since being activated, including two against right-handers. He can play all around the infield and could see regular turns at DH. He's gone 6-for-20 with a triple, a home run and four RBI over five games since rejoining the lineup.

Analyse
Gonzalez smacked his first triple of the season in the second inning, and he later delivered a bases-loaded, two-run single in the top of the third, scoring Wilyer Abreu and Willson Contreras. Gonzalez underwent shoulder surgery in March and didn't make his season debut until June 28. He's gone 5-for-15 at the plate since then.
