Could return to outfield soon
Trout took part in some outfield drills Friday, and Angels manager Ron Washington said he expects Trout to play right field in a game soon, Michael Huntley of The Sporting Tribune reports.
Analyse
Since returning from a stint on the injured list due to a knee injury May 30, Trout has been limited to DH duties for the Angels. Friday marked the first time the slugger has performed outfield drills since that IL stint, and he's expected to do more drills Saturday. Trout shifted over to right field at the beginning of the season after spending most of his career in center, and it appears RF will remain his position when he's ready to play defense again. Trout went 0-for-4 as the DH in Friday's win over Seattle, his first game without a hit since he returned from the knee injury.

Trio of hits and RBI in win
Trout went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run during Monday's 7-6 win over the Red Sox.
Analyse
Trout smoked his 10th home run of the season, a 454-foot bomb, as part of the Angels' six-run first inning. He added two more hits to cap a vintage performance and his second three-hit game in his last three contests. The 33-year-old has now recorded a hit in six straight contests, going 10-for-20 over that stretch with five RBI.

Getting rest after recent IL return
Trout is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Analyse
Trout will get a pre-planned day off after going 4-for-9 with a double, an RBI and a run in two games since being activated from the injured list Friday. Though Trout has experienced no setbacks with his knee, manager Ron Washington noted that the 33-year-old isn't yet ready to play right field and will continue to be deployed as the Angels' designated hitter for the remainder of their current road trip, which ends Wednesday in Boston. Trout is expected to resume outfield workouts when the Angels return to Anaheim, but it's unclear how soon he might be ready to play defense.
