Merrill (hamstring) went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Tuesday's loss to the Yankees.
Analyse
Merrill made his first appearance since April 6 after being activated from the injured list Tuesday. He wasted no time getting back into his groove; Merrill doubled in the first inning before singling and scoring a run in the fourth. He owns a terrific .390/.422/.683 slash line with six extra-base hits through 45 plate appearances.

Analyse
After spending nearly a month on the injured list due to a strained right hamstring, Merrill will rejoin the active roster and reclaim his role as San Diego's everyday center fielder. The 22-year-old went 2-for-6 with a walk and two runs scored during his two-game rehab assignment at Double-A San Antonio, and he'd been slashing .378/.415/.676 in the majors before getting injured. Luis Campusano was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

While he's met up with the Padres after traveling to New York following his rehab assignment with Double-A San Antonio over the weekend, rainy conditions are expected in The Bronx on Monday night, so the team will wait an extra day to reinsert him into the lineup.
