Belts another long ball Wednesday
Volpe went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run Wednesday in a loss to the Diamondbacks.
Analyse
The Yankees trailed 4-0 entering the bottom of the ninth inning, but Volpe gave the team life with his one-out, three-run blast to right field off A.J. Puk. New York wasn't able to complete the comeback, but it was yet another big early-season moment for the young shortstop. Volpe has gone deep four times in his first five games of the campaign -- only one major-leaguer (Eugenio Suarez) has more home runs so far in 2025.

Keeps up early-season power
Volpe went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Diamondbacks.
Analyse
Volpe went deep in the fourth inning, belting a 418-foot solo shot that tied the game at 2-2. The talented young shortstop has homered in three of his first four games to the begin the campaign, though those are his only three hits across 16 at-bats. Volpe had just 12 long balls over 637 regular-season at-bats last year.

Goes deep again Saturday
Volpe went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run, an additional run and two walks in a 20-9 thrashing of Milwaukee on Saturday.
Analyse
Volpe played his part on a historic day for the Yankees, smashing one of the team's franchise-record nine homers with a three-run blast to left field in the second inning. The 23-year-old has gone deep in each of New York's first two games of the campaign after hitting a modest 12 homers over 688 plate appearances last season. In fact, both of Volpe's hits so far have left the yard.

Belts Opening Day homer
Volpe went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Thursday in a 4-2 win against Milwaukee.
Analyse
Volpe swatted a solo shot in the second inning after Austin Wells went deep leading off the bottom of the first for the Yankees. The Opening Day homer gave Volpe a promising start to the campaign in the power department after he clubbed just 12 long balls over 688 plate appearances last season. The young shortstop hit 21 home runs across 601 plate appearances as a rookie in 2023, so there's reason to believe there's more power in his bat than he demonstrated in his sophomore campaign.
