Converts save in Colorado
Kittredge notched a save against the Rockies on Monday, allowing one hit and striking out one batter over one scoreless inning.

In an usually low-scoring affair at Coors Field, Kittredge entered in the ninth frame with Baltimore clinging to a 2-1 lead. The Rockies put the tying run in scoring position on a one-out double, but Kittredge then retired the next two batters -- with a huge hand from Colton Cowser, who reached above the outfield wall to rob Jake McCarthy of what would have been a walk-off homer -- to notch his ninth save. Five of those saves came in August, when the righty reliever allowed just three earned runs over 12.2 frames while posting an 8:2 K:BB and adding three holds along with two victories. Kittredge finished the month with three saves over the final six days, so he seems to be strengthening his hold on the Orioles' closer role.

Kittredge earned a save against the Athletics on Saturday, allowing two hits with no walks or strikeouts in one scoreless inning.
Analyse
Kittredge inherited a two-run lead in the ninth inning and allowed the tying run to reach second base on a pair of singles and a pair of stolen bases. However, the veteran righty got Tommy White to ground out to end the threat. Kittredge picked up his fourth save in August and his eighth overall this season. Four other Orioles relievers have notched at least one save in August, so Kittredge seemingly remains in a committee, but he appears to be the most likely of the team's pitchers to be handed the ball in save situations.

Kittredge allowed a hit and a walk with no strikeouts in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Wednesday's 8-7 win over the Cardinals.
Analyse
The Orioles took the lead in the top of the ninth inning, and Kittredge was able to make it stick. He continues to work in a general high-leverage role, collecting three saves and three holds, as well as one blown save, over 9.1 innings in August. The veteran reliever has a 3.35 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 33:11 K:BB across 40.1 innings this season, notching seven saves, nine holds and four blown saves along the way.
