Team-high 19 points as starter
Williams logged 19 points (6-8 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in 22 minutes of play during Saturday's 123-94 loss to the 76ers.
Análisis
After missing a slew of games to a knee injury and coming off the bench against the Bucks on Thursday, Williams made his return to the starting lineup. He looked right at home, posting his second-most efficient shooting performance of the season while he was at it. Until Ben Simmons (calf) returns to the lineup, the fourth-year guard could remain in the starting unit, where he's averaging 10.9 points and 5.6 assists per game. Simmons' next chance to suit up will come Monday against the Suns.

Williams (knee) tallied eight points (2-5 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, one assist and one block across 19 minutes in Thursday's 113-110 win over the Bucks.

Williams was back in action Thursday after a 12-game absence due to a left knee sprain. Though his numbers didn't jump off the page, Williams immediately took hold of a prominent spot in the rotation. He was on the court in crunch time and grabbed a key rebound with six seconds remaining, then was fouled and hit both of his free throws to give the Nets a three-point lead. Williams could see his role expand if the ankle injury that Cameron Johnson suffered in the closing seconds of Thursday's contest forces him to miss time.

Practices, close to return
Williams (knee) practiced Tuesday and is nearing a return to game action, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports. He's officially listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Raptors.
Análisis
Williams has missed 11 straight games due to a left knee sprain, but he intends to play in at least one game during the Nets' upcoming back-to-back set -- Wednesday in Toronto and Thursday in Milwaukee. Given his lengthy absence, it's fair to assume Williams may face limitations when finally given the green light again. Also, Cam Thomas (hamstring) recently returned to action from a lengthy injury absence of his own, which will likely force Williams to operate off the bench after starting five straight games before his absence.
