Wembanyama exited to the locker room in the second quarter with what initially appeared to be an arm injury, but he returned to the hardwood shortly thereafter. However, the star big man didn't start the second half and was eventually ruled out for the remainder of the game. Luke Kornet should help pick up the slack the rest of the way.

The third-year superstar led the Spurs in scoring en route to his 41st double-double of the season, but Wembanyama was just a little less productive than Nikola Jokic, who led all scorers on the afternoon with 40 points. Wemby has pulled down at least 15 boards in six straight appearances, all double-doubles, and over that stretch he's averaging a massive 30.7 points, 16.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 4.0 blocks, 1.5 threes and 1.2 steals as San Antonio tries to chase down OKC for the top seed in the Western Conference.

The 41 points and 18 boards led both teams on the night, as Wembanyama bolstered his MVP case by tying the season-high scoring mark he'd produced in the Spurs' last game Monday against the Bulls. The double-double was also his 40th of the season, the second time in three years he's reached that mark. Wembanyama has scored 30-plus points in six of his last 14 games, averaging 29.1 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.5 blocks, 3.4 assists, 2.6 threes and 1.2 steals over that span while shooting 53.0 percent from the floor.
