Sliding to bench Sunday
Smart won't start in Sunday's game against Boston, Sean Grande of NBC Sports Boston reports.
Análisis
Jordan Poole (elbow) will return to game action, pushing Smart to the bench. Over his last five outings (one start), the veteran guard has averaged 8.4 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals across 17.6 minutes per game.

Reaches double figures in start
Smart posted 12 points (4-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and three rebounds across 25 minutes in Thursday's 109-97 loss to Orlando.
Análisis
Smart received his first start as a member of the Wizards while Jordan Poole (elbow) sat out for the second leg of a back-to-back set. The veteran guard shot the ball well and committed just one turnover, but the lack of assists and steals rendered his production rather disappointing for those that streamed him. Smart will likely move back to the bench and see his minutes drop if Poole is back in action for Sunday's game in Boston.

Set to play Thursday
Smart (finger) isn't on the injury report for Thursday's game versus the Magic.
Análisis
Smart sat out the first leg of Washington's back-to-back set in Wednesday's win over the Kings but will be back in action Thursday. With Jordan Poole (elbow) sitting out against Orlando, Smart could receive increased playing time in Washington's backcourt.

Ruled out against Sacramento
Smart won't play in Wednesday's game versus the Kings due to a right index finger partial extensor hood tear.
Análisis
Smart continues to deal with a right index finger injury and will be forced to sit out the first leg of Washington's back-to-back Wednesday. AJ Johnson, Anthony Gill and Jaylen Martin are candidates to receive increased playing time in his absence. Smart's next chance to suit up is Thursday's matchup with Orlando.
