Análisis
Zach LaVine (personal/recently traded) is available to make his Kings debut, pushing Ellis to the second unit after he drew the spot start Monday. In 36 appearances off the bench this season, Ellis is averaging 6.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.2 steals across 19.1 minutes.

Strong defensive showing in start
Ellis notched 13 points (5-8 FG, 3-3 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists, two blocks and three steals in 34 minutes during Monday's 116-114 victory over Minnesota.
Análisis
The Kings swapped out De'Aaron Fox for Zach LaVine in a blockbuster trade, but with LaVine not expected to make his Sacramento debut until Wednesday, Ellis got a spot start and made his usual big impact on the defensive end of the court. The third-year guard has recorded multiple steals in nine of 16 games (seven starts) since the beginning of January, averaging 9.9 points, 2.7 boards, 2.3 threes, 1.9 steals, 1.7 assists and 0.8 blocks in 25.7 minutes a contest over that stretch. Ellis' role isn't likely to increase in the new backcourt rotation, but he should still have value in deeper fantasy formats.

Starting Monday vs. T-Wolves

Ellis will take the spot in the Kings' starting five vacated by De'Aaron Fox, who was traded to the Spurs on Monday in a three-team trade that also saw Zach LaVine being sent from Chicago to Sacramento. LaVine is expected to make his Kings debut Wednesday against the Magic, so Ellis will make his 11th start of the regular season Monday. Ellis has averaged 9.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.9 steals over 25.1 minutes per game since the beginning of January.

Struggles from downtown
Ellis posted three points (1-8 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, one block and two steals over 22 minutes during Saturday's 144-110 loss to the Thunder.
Análisis
Although Ellis couldn't find the mark from long distance Saturday, he was still able to chip in on the defensive end of the floor. The 25-year-old has come off Sacramento's bench in his last eight appearances, during which he's averaged 8.0 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.4 steals and 2.0 three-pointers in 19.9 minutes. If the team opts to move star floor general De'Aaron Fox ahead of the Feb. 6 trade deadline, however, Ellis could find himself making future starts for the Kings down the stretch of the season.
