Playing Thursday, likely out Friday
Tatum said after Tuesday's 113-102 win over the Hornets that he will play Thursday against the Knicks, meaning he will likely sit out Friday's game against the Pelicans, Zack Cox of the Boston Herald reports. The 28-year-old forward fell one dime short of his second straight triple-double. Tatum is still being held out for one half of back-to-backs, but when he's on the court he's showing little sign of the Achilles tear that delayed the start of his 2025-26 campaign until early March. Over his last 10 games, Tatum is averaging 21.9 points, 10.9 boards, 5.5 assists, 3.1 threes and 1.4 steals.

Tatum didn't deliver his most efficient shooting performance but still stuffed the stat sheet in this high-scoring affair. The star forward finished as Boston's second-leading scorer behind Jaylen Brown (43 points), marking the former's third consecutive contest scoring at least 25 points. Tatum also posted game- and season-high marks in both rebounds and assists en route to his first triple-double of the season, and he also led Boston in steals.
