Inefficient outing in loss
Reaves posted eight points (3-15 FG, 0-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight assists, four rebounds and two steals over 33 minutes in Friday's 117-116 preseason loss to the Kings.
Análisis
Reaves was the only starter to not eclipse the double digit mark in scoring despite leading the team in minutes. He also missed all seven three-point attempts, which is very uncharacteristic, but was able to salvage his day with eight assists. Hopefully, Reaves is able to recalibrate himself offensively as the Lakers will heavily lean on him and Luka Doncic with LeBron James (sciatica) out for the first few weeks of the season.

Reaves (rest) will play in Friday's preseason finale against the Kings, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports.
Análisis
Reaves will get his final tune-up before the regular season Friday. The star guard could work into the second half against Sacramento, as the Lakers will be treating this as a dress rehearsal.

Análisis
Reaves and Luka Doncic powered the offense Tuesday, each scoring 25 points on efficient shooting. Coming off a breakout 2024-25 campaign where he averaged 20.2 points, 5.8 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals across 73 regular-season games, the Oklahoma product will look to sustain that level of play as the Lakers aim to contend this season.

Reaves recorded 21 points (7-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT), three rebounds, three assists, one steal and a block in 22 minutes during Sunday's 126-116 preseason win over the Warriors.
Análisis
Reaves was the team's high scorer Sunday, and he did it in an efficient fashion. He has now gone over 20 points in each of his two preseason appearances. Reaves played a typical amount of minutes considering it was a preseason game, but it should be noted that he was clearly labored in his last couple of minutes on the floor. Head coach JJ Redick said postgame that Reaves took a knee to his lower leg, but he should be fine. Although this is unlikely to impact his outlook for the regular-season opener, Reaves' availability for Tuesday's preseason game against the Suns is something to monitor.
