Placed on waivers
The Mets placed Reid-Foley on outright waivers Tuesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Análisis
Reid-Foley got off to a promising start last year, posting a 1.66 ERA and 1.25 WHIP over 21.2 innings, but his season was cut short in late June due to a shoulder injury. The Mets will now look to create space on their 40-man roster by outrighting him to Triple-A Syracuse. The waivers are irrevocable, however, so if one of the other 29 clubs puts in a claim on the 29-year-old righty, he will no longer be a Met.

Makes spring debut
Reid-Foley (shoulder) made his Grapefruit League debut in Saturday's 10-1 win over the Rays, retiring two of the four batters he faced while giving up one hit and one walk.
Análisis
Reid-Foley had been eased into the Mets' Grapefruit League pitching schedule after he finished the past season on the injured list due to a right shoulder impingement, but now that he's made his spring debut, he looks to be in good shape to make the club's Opening Day roster. The right-hander turned in a 1.66 WHIP and 1.25 WHIP in 21.2 innings out of the New York bullpen last season before being shut down for good in late June.

Expected to make Opening Day roster
Reid-Foley (shoulder) is out of minor-league options, making him a favorite to win a spot at the back of the Mets' bullpen if he proves in spring training that he's healthy, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Análisis
The 29-year-old right-hander is being brought along carefully in camp from a right shoulder impingement that ended his 2024 campaign early. Reid-Foley was effective in the Mets' bullpen last season when he was on the mound however, posting a 1.66 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 25:14 K:BB over 21.2 innings. If he sees Grapefruit League action soon, he should still have time to get ready for Opening Day.
