Aiming for minimum IL stay
Soroka (shoulder) said Monday that he expects to return following a minimum 15-day stint on the injured list, Jody Jackson of DBacks.tv reports.
Análisis
Soroka landed on the IL on Sunday due to inflammation in his right shoulder, and the hurler believes he's merely going through a "dead arm" phase. While the Diamondbacks have early optimism that the right-hander will be back on the active roster in two weeks, he will have to check several boxes of his rehab between now and then to make it a reality.

The Diamondbacks placed Soroka on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to right arm inflammation.

The right-hander struggled in Saturday's start versus the Reds, surrendering six runs on six hits and three walks across 3.1 innings. Soroka missed nearly two months earlier this summer due to a glute injury, and an arm injury offers the possibility of a longer absence. He'll be eligible to be reinstated in early September but doesn't yet have an official timeline for his return.

Soroka (8-4) allowed six runs on six hits, three walks and a hit batsman while striking out three over 3.1 innings, taking the loss Saturday versus the Reds.
Análisis
This was Soroka's worst start in three outings since he returned from a strained glute. He didn't give up a home run, but the Reds' top half of the order was able to collect two doubles and a triple off of him. Soroka is now at a 3.40 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 91:24 K:BB through 95.1 innings over 18 starts this season. This was just the fourth time he's allowed four or more runs, so consider it a blip on the radar. Soroka has a good chance to bounce back since his next start is projected to come in San Francisco.
