Freeland (neck) is expected to pitch in a rehab game at Double-A Hartford on Wednesday, Kevin Henry of The Denver Gazette reports.

Freeland landed on the injured list Aug. 24 due to cervical radiculopathy, and after spending the past week throwing off a mound, the 33-year-old is now ready to return to a competitive setting. It's unclear whether he'll make additional rehab appearances beyond Wednesday, but because he hasn't been on the shelf very long, he shouldn't need much time to ramp back up.

Análisis
Since landing on the injured list Aug. 24 due to cervical radiculopaty, Freeland threw what he called a "fairly aggressive" 20-pitch bullpen session Wednesday, per MLB.com reports. He'll be throwing more of a simulated bullpen session Saturday, and if all goes well, Freeland could be cleared to head out on a brief rehab assignment. Freeland appears to be tracking toward a return from the injured list around the middle of September.
