Jansen recorded the final out in Monday's 7-4 win over the Athletics.
Análisis
Shaun Anderson allowed two runs in a non-save situation in the ninth inning, prompting Jansen's entry with two outs and the bases empty. Jansen was tidy, getting a groundout from Luis Urias on three pitches to end the game. Jansen has pitched much better in save situations than non-save situations this season, in part because he gave up six earned runs May 2 in a non-save situation. He's now at a 4.57 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 19:9 K:BB while earning 14 saves over 21.2 innings this season.

Gives up homer, secures save
Jansen allowed a run on one hit over one inning to earn the save in Saturday's 8-6 win over the Mariners.
Análisis
Jansen gave up a solo home run to Cal Raleigh in the ninth inning, but the Mariners weren't able to make a rally of it. This was Jansen's second save in as many days, which likely means he won't be available for closing duties if a save chance surfaces Sunday. The veteran closer is up to 14 saves on the year while adding a 4.64 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 19:9 K:BB across 21.1 innings. He's already given up five homers this season, but the one he allowed Saturday is the first one that's come during a save situation.

Converts 13th save
Jansen struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Friday's 5-4 win over the Mariners.
Análisis
Jansen has six saves and a win over his last eight appearances, allowing two runs across 8.1 innings in that span. The veteran closer had his share of shaky moments in May, but he remains a perfect 13-for-13 in save chances this season. He's done that despite a 4.43 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 19:9 K:BB across 20.1 innings. While chances to close have been somewhat limited for a mediocre Angels club, Jansen is getting the job done when his number is called.

Nabs win in ninth Tuesday
Jansen (1-2) walked two and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Tuesday to record the win in a 4-3 extra-inning victory over the Red Sox.
Análisis
Rather than hold Jansen back for a potential save situation, Angels manager Ron Washington sent his closer to the mound in the bottom of the ninth to keep the game tied at 3-3. While pinch runner David Hamilton did get to third base thanks to two stolen bases, Jansen stranded him by striking out Wilyer Abreu and coaxing a groundout from Romy Gonzalez. Reid Detmers then worked the 10th for the save when the Halos pushed a run across in the top of the frame. Since the beginning of May, Jansen has posted a shaky 7.94 ERA, 1.85 WHIP and 10:7 K:BB over 11.1 innings, but he hasn't blown any of his six save chances during that time and his job as closer doesn't appear to be in any jeopardy.
