Displays power, speed

Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, an RBI double, an additional run scored and a stolen base during Sunday's 8-4 win over the Tigers.

Analysis

Rodriguez reached safely in four of his five plate appearances Sunday and swatted a homer for a third consecutive game. The 24-year-old is up to 14 home runs and 17 stolen bases on the season. In his last seven games, Rodriguez is 9-for-29 (.310) with five doubles, seven RBI and nine runs scored.

Homers in three-hit game

Rodriguez went 3-for-5 with a walk, a double, a solo home run, two RBI and three runs scored during Saturday's 15-7 win over the Tigers.

Analysis

Rodriguez snapped a lengthy home run drought Friday, and he wasted little time hitting another one Saturday, smashing a 427-foot home run to left in the sixth inning. The 24-year-old has now homered 13 times and has 48 RBI on the season, but the All-Star still has some work to do to match his numbers from prior seasons. If he keeps up this pace, his .249/.308/.405 slash line would be the worst numbers of his four-year big-league career across the board.

Returns to form with two-run homer

Rodriguez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and scored twice in Friday's 12-3 win over the Tigers.

Analysis

Rodriguez snapped out of a cold streak in emphatic fashion, launching a 440-foot two-run shot off Tarik Skubal in the fifth inning, his first homer since June 23. The 24-year-old had gone just 5-for-41 (.122) with two RBI over his previous 10 games entering Friday, but he may be showing signs of regaining his power stroke. Even during his slump, Rodriguez has remained locked into the heart of Seattle's lineup, and a blast like this could spark a much-needed turnaround.
