Not in Wednesday's lineup

Sanchez (back) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Nationals.

Análisis

Sanchez had to depart Tuesday's contest with mild back spasms. He's expected to be fine, but with southpaw MacKenzie Gore on the hill for Washington, it makes sense for the left-handed hitting Sanchez to take the day to rest. Kyle Stowers and Griffin Conine will hold down the corner outfield spots for the Marlins.

Exits early Tuesday

Sanchez was removed from Tuesday's game against the Nationals due to an apparent injury, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Análisis

Sanchez lined a single into center field in the second inning but had to be removed after suffering an injury while stealing second base. The details of his injury remain unknown, though any missed games for the 26-year-old outfielder would likely result in more playing time for Derek Hill or David Hensley.

Swipes 11th bag

Sanchez went 1-for-3 with a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's win over the Giants.

Análisis

The 26-year-old was batting third as the DH and swiped his career-high 11th bag of the year in the sixth inning. Sanchez is on a roll heading into the final month of the season, slashing .281/.338/.516 over his last 18 games with four homers, three stolen bases, 10 runs and 15 RBI, and he's already established new career highs in home runs (17), runs (46) and RBI (57) as well.

Resting versus LHP

Sanchez isn't in the Marlins' lineup Friday versus the Giants.

Análisis

Left-hander Blake Snell will toe the slab for San Francisco, so the left-handed bat of Sanchez will step out of Miami's starting nine Friday. David Hensley will get the starting nod in right field instead and bat sixth.
