Montas will take the bump as the Brewers face elimination Wednesday after losing the series opener 8-4 on Tuesday. The right-hander finished the 2024 regular season with a 4.84 ERA and 1.37 WHIP with 148 strikeouts over 150.2 innings in 30 starts with the Reds and Brewers. Montas has made two career postseason appearances, allowing seven earned runs on 10 hits and a walk while striking out six batters over 6.2 innings.

Montas did not factor into the decision in Friday's 8-4 win against the Mets, pitching four innings while allowing two runs on two hits and three walks. He struck out six.
Análisis
The veteran right-hander was pulled after 82 pitches as Milwaukee looks to keep its starting rotation fresh for the playoffs. The Mets managed to score both runs in the fourth inning via a two-run homer by Mark Vientos. This marks the third time Montas has not managed to reach the fifth frame since joining the Brewers on July 30 while making 11 starts with his new club. Overall, the 31-year-old owns a 4.55 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 70:25 K:BB across 57.1 innings with Milwaukee.
