Starting rehab assignment Thursday
Pagan (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment Thursday, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.
Análisis
The Reds haven't disclosed which minor-league affiliate Pagan will join, but Goldsmith relays that the reliever's rehab assignment is expected to be brief. Pagan has been sidelined since early May with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain. Tony Santillan has pitched well lately as the Reds' closer, but Pagan should eventually reclaim his old gig once he's activated from the 15-day injured list.

Feels good following live BP
Pagan (hamstring) threw 20 pitches and used his entire repertoire in a live batting practice session/simulated game Friday, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
Análisis
This was Pagan's first time facing live hitters since landing on the injured list in May, and the right-hander was ebullient following the session. "The fastball command was good, stuff was good. Physically, I felt strong. I'm really happy with how it went," Pagan said. "I felt like I could have thrown probably another 15-20 more, too. I felt like I was getting stronger as I went. That's a good sign." Next up for Cincinnati's closer is another live BP session Monday, which could lead to a rehab assignment, according to Reds manager Terry Francona.

Ramping up activity
Pagan (hamstring) threw a bullpen session Tuesday and is scheduled to pitch in a simulated game/live batting practice session at Yankee Stadium on Friday, MLB.com reports.
Análisis
Pagan, who threw a bullpen session over the weekend, has stacked up a few sessions and is moving on to live batting practice. The next step for the Reds' closer will be a rehab assignment. Pagan could rejoin the team by the end of June.
