Placed on IL with quad strain
The Marlins placed Norby on the 10-day injured list Friday due to a strained left quadriceps.
Análisis
Maximo Acosta was recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday and is starting at second base Friday against the Phillies, as Javier Sanoja will fill Norby's void at third base and bat ninth. Norby had been batting .303 with a .909 OPS over the previous 30 days.

Heading back to injured list
The Marlins will place Norby on the 10-day injured list prior to Friday's game versus the Phillies with an undisclosed injury, Craig Mish of FanDuel Sports Network Florida reports.
Análisis
It's not clear what injury Norby is dealing with, but he was removed late from the Marlins' last game Wednesday against the Nationals. The Marlins should have more on his status soon. Maximo Acosta will replace Norby on the roster and could be the team's primary third baseman while Norby is out. Norby has been limited to only 77 games this season due to injury.

Taking Sunday off
Norby is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.
Análisis
Norby will get a breather after returning from the injured list Friday and starting two straight games, going 3-for-7 with two doubles, two walks, three RBI and three runs. Javier Sanoja will cover third base Sunday.

Two hits in return
Norby went 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored in Friday's loss to the Mets.
Análisis
Activated off the IL earlier in the day after recovering from wrist surgery, Norby got the start at third base and batted sixth in his first big-league action since July 11. The 25-year-old will hold down the starting job at the hot corner until Graham Pauley (oblique) gets healthy, at which point the Marlins could have a tough decision to make -- Norby has a .244/.291/.368 slash line in 73 games this season, while Pauley had a .254/.371/.492 line in 26 games after getting called back up from Triple-A Jacksonville when Norby went down.
