Sitting after five straight starts
Mayo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Though he'll take a seat against Phillies right-hander Zack Wheeler in the series finale, Mayo had been included in the lineup at third base or designated hitter in each of the last five games. The Orioles faced three right-handers and two lefties during that stretch, with Mayo going 4-for-16 with one home run, two walks, five RBI and four runs. Christian Encarnacion-Strand will receive the nod at third base Sunday, but Mayo still looks like he could be in store for fairly steady playing time at the position against right-handed pitching so long as he's performing adequately at the plate.

Big day as DH in extra-innings win
Mayo went 2-for-3 with two walks, a triple, two runs scored and two RBI in Wednesday's 10-9 extra-innings win over the Tigers.

Getting the start at DH and batting sixth against Tarik Skubal, Mayo's two-run triple off Drew Anderson in the eighth inning was the Orioles' only extra-base hit of the afternoon, tying the game at 7-7 before Baltimore finally won it in the 12th. Over 10 games since the All-Star break, Mayo has gone 8-for-27 (.296) with four extra-base hits, including two homers, along with six RBI and eight runs.

Drives in three runs Monday
Mayo went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and an additional run scored during Baltimore's 8-5 win over Detroit on Monday.
Análisis
Mayo's two-run homer in the fifth inning extended the Orioles' lead to 7-3 and essentially sealed the game for Baltimore. It was his 14th home run of the season and fourth since July 1, and for the month he has gone 9-for-34 (.265) with one steal and seven RBI. He's been losing out on reps at the hot corner to Christian Encarnacion-Strand, but more nights like Monday would afford Mayo more playing time over the last two months of the regular season, especially for as long as Blaze Alexander (hand) is out of action.
