Filling in for Guerrero at first base
McAdoo will start at first base and bat second in Sunday's game against the Yankees.

McAdoo will remain in the lineup for the sixth time in seven games, covering first base for the second day in a row after splitting time between third base and left field in his prior four starts. With the Blue Jays placing Vladimir Guerrero (concussion) on the 7-day injured list Saturday, McAdoo could have an extended runway at first base, though Kazuma Okamoto could also move across the diamond to help fill in. Since being recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday, McAdoo has gone 5-for-16 with a home run, a double, three walks and four RBI.

McAdoo went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's 2-1 win over the Red Sox.

In his first major-league game since June 19, McAdoo broke a scoreless tie with a solo blast off Sonny Gray in the fifth inning. He also drew a walk in the sixth and was lifted for Ernie Clement as a defensive replacement in the eighth. The 24-year-old has gone just 5-for-27 with two homers in nine games with the Blue Jays but posted a solid .832 OPS with 16 homers and 12 steals across 385 plate appearances with Triple-A Buffalo this season.

Returns to majors
The Blue Jays recalled McAdoo from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday. He'll start at third base and bat seventh in the Blue Jays' series opener versus the Red Sox.
Análisis
Toronto optioned Davis Schneider to Triple-A to open up a spot on the active roster for McAdoo. Like Schneider before him, McAdoo protects to serve as a utility player and will likely see most of his playing time against left-handed pitching. McAdoo was previously up with the Blue Jays for about three weeks earlier this season, appearing in eight games while going 4-for-25 with one home run, three RBI and two runs.
