Hits for the cycle
Buxton hit for the cycle, going 5-for-5 with a double, a triple, a home run, two RBI and three runs scored during Saturday's 12-4 win over the Pirates.
Análisis
After giving the Twins a scare when he was hit on the hand by a pitch earlier this week, Buxton has shown he's feeling 100 percent and then some. On Saturday, his bobblehead day, he gave the crowd at Target Field a show by hitting for the first cycle in the stadium's history and the first by a Twin since 2019. The 31-year-old's five-hit performance brought his slash line to .286/.350/.571 on the season to go along with 21 home runs, 55 RBI and 17 stolen bases. His .921 OPS is second amongst qualified MLB outfielders, trailing just Aaron Judge.

Multi-hit effort in return
Buxton (hand) went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Friday's 2-1 win over Pittsburgh.
Análisis
After sitting out Thursday's series finale against the Cubs with a bruised hand, Buxton tallied his second multi-hit game of the month in his return Friday. The speedy center fielder has been on a tear lately, which helped him earn an All-Star nod. Over his last 111 plate appearances (27 games), Buxton is slashing .303/.378/.667 with 10 home runs, six doubles, 15 RBI, 24 runs scored and seven stolen bases.

Not starting Thursday
Buxton (hand) is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cubs.
Análisis
Buxton will get at least one day off after he suffered a bruised left hand when he was struck by a pitch during Wednesday's 4-2 win. Though X-rays on Buxton's hand have ruled out any structural damage, the bruising and soreness he's dealing with could make it difficult for him to swing the bat comfortably, making it unclear if he'll be available off the bench as a pinch hitter. Harrison Bader will get the starting nod in center field in Buxton's stead Thursday.

Exits after HBP
Buxton was removed from Wednesday's game against the Cubs after getting hit on the left hand by a pitch, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.
Análisis
Buxton initially remained in the game after getting plunked in the first inning, but he was lifted for a pinch hitter when his spot in the lineup came around in the second frame. The 31-year-old outfielder was diagnosed with a left hand contusion shortly after leaving the game, per Dan Hayes of The Athletic, so he likely avoided structural damage but could still sit out a game or two to recover.

Belts 20th homer
Buxton went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, two runs scored and a stolen base in Sunday's extra-inning loss to the Rays.
Análisis
Buxton led off the game with a 414-foot blast for his 20th home run of the year. It's the second time he's reached the 20-homer mark in his MLB career and first since 2022. The veteran outfielder later singled and swiped second base in the third inning before scoring a run in the 10th. Buxton owns a .270/.334/.544 slash line with 34 extra-base hits and 16 steals through 314 plate appearances.
