Notches save No. 5
Munoz walked one and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Saturday to record his fifth save of the season in an 11-9 win over the Cardinals.
Análisis
The right-hander fired only seven of his 14 pitches for strikes, but Munoz escaped taking any damage after a leadoff walk by getting Nathan Church to ground into a double play. Munoz has blown only one save chance so far this season, but a couple shaky appearances have left him with a 6.55 ERA and 1.45 WHIP through 11 innings despite an 18:6 K:BB. Should he falter at all as Seattle's closer, Matt Brash -- who picked up the win Saturday -- has yet to allow an earned run in 2026 and would be the next man up.

Bounces back with save
Munoz allowed a hit and struck out two without walking a batter in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Friday's 3-2 win over the Cardinals.
Análisis
Munoz took his first blown save of the year Wednesday versus the Athletics, but he bounced back by converting his next opportunity. He got the job done on 14 pitches (10 strikes) to earn his fourth save in five chances this season. Munoz's season numbers are skewed by a couple of ugly outings -- he's at a 7.20 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 17:5 K:BB over 10 innings. He hasn't been as dominant as last year, but he's still relatively unchallenged for closing duties at this stage of the season.

Blown save vs. A's
Munoz blew the save but picked up the win Wednesday against the A's, allowing a run on one hit and no walks in the ninth inning. He struck out one.
Análisis
Protecting a one-run lead, Munoz left a two-strike slider over the plate to Nick Kurtz, who launched a 438-foot homer to tie the game, sticking Munoz with his first blown save this year. The right-hander would ultimately come away with the win after Seattle answered with a walk-off run in the bottom half of the frame. After a stellar 2025 campaign, Munoz has been shaky to open 2026 -- he's given up eight earned runs across nine innings after allowing just 12 earned runs in 62.1 frames last year. His ERA sits at 8.00 with a 1.56 WHIP and 15:5 K:BB.

Strikes out three in save
Munoz struck out three and did not allow a hit or a walk during a scoreless inning to earn the save in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Rangers.
Análisis
Munoz's wild pitch allowed Jake Burger to get on base, but he was stranded there. Munoz has had a couple of abysmal showings in non-save situations, but he's converted all three of his save chances so far while keeping runs off the board in seven of his nine appearances. He's pitched to a 7.88 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 14:5 K:BB across eight innings this season. As long as Munoz continues to lock down saves, his status as closer should hold firm.

Secures one-out save
Munoz earned the save in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Rangers, striking out the only batter he faced in the ninth inning.
Análisis
He was summoned in the ninth inning after Cole Wilcox allowed two runs and loaded the bases, and Munoz struck out Brandon Nimmo on four pitches to quickly slam the door. The 27-year-old Munoz surrendered five runs in a non-save situation Wednesday, but he's now kept opponents off the board in six of eight appearances this season. Overall, the right-hander owns a 9.00 ERA, 1.86 WHIP and 11:5 K:BB across seven innings but has converted both of his save opportunities in the early going.
