Claxton won't suit up for the first of back-to-back contests to rest. He'll likely be back Monday in Portland. With Day'Ron Sharpe (thumb) done for the remainder of the campaign, the Nets will need to go small Sunday, and Danny Wolf should absorb most of the minutes underneath the basket.

Claxton has been slumping badly in recent weeks, and Friday's loss means he's now scored in double digits in just two of his nine appearances since the beginning of March. Over that stretch, the veteran big man has averaged just 7.2 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, as this month has been his least productive of the season by a wide margin.

Analyse
Claxton snapped a four-game stretch of single-digit scoring with a 12-point performance while recording his first double-double since Feb. 9. The big man is now up to 11 double-doubles this season, though nine of those came before the calendar flipped to 2026. After averaging 9.9 rebounds during the 2023-24 campaign, Claxton's production on the glass has dipped over the past two seasons, as he entered Monday averaging 7.1 rebounds across 60 appearances.
