Not expected to play Friday
Towns is doubtful for Friday's game against the Pistons due to a right eye laceration.
Analyse
Towns got his right eye bandaged up during Wednesday's 134-127 double-overtime victory over the Nuggets, and now it sounds like he won't be able to play Friday. Mitchell Robinson appears to be slated to handle the starting center job against Detroit, with Ariel Hukporti stepping into the backup role.

Iffy to face Detroit
Towns (eye laceration) is questionable for Friday's game against the Pistons.
Analyse
This is a new injury for Towns, but the questionable tag suggests that he's day-to-day. If Towns is unable to play Friday, the Knicks will likely lean more on Mitchell Robinson. Ariel Hukporti would be a candidate for more run as well.

Drops fourth straight double-double
Towns ended with 24 points (9-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 12 rebounds and one assist over 31 minutes before fouling out of Wednesday's 134-127 double-overtime victory over the Nuggets.

It was the fourth straight double-double for Towns and his NBA-leading 34th of the season. The veteran center also leads the league with 11.9 rebounds per game, just ahead of former teammate Rudy Gobert (11.3 per game), and over the last 15 games Towns is averaging 16.5 points, 12.9 boards, 3.0 assists, 1.4 threes and 1.5 combined steals-plus-blocks.

Checks back in
Towns (forehead) has returned to Wednesday's game against Denver, Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News reports.
Analyse
Towns and Spencer Jones collided earlier in the game, which resulted in Towns sustaining a gash above his right eye. He briefly went back to the locker room after the collision, but he's been given the green light to return. It's unclear if the injury required stitches or if he was simply being checked for a concussion.

Goes to locker room after collision
Towns went back to the locker room after sustaining a cut above his right eye during a collision with Spencer Jones in Wednesday's game against Denver, Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News reports.
Analyse
Towns and Jones were both bleeding after the collision, but it seems Towns got the worst of the exchange. The center remained in the game with a bandage over the cut to shoot a pair of free throws, but he then exited the game and went back to the locker room. While Towns is on the sidelines, look for Mitchell Robinson to see most of the center minutes.

Collects another double-double
Towns chipped in 19 points (7-16 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 14 rebounds, three assists and two steals over 26 minutes during Tuesday's 132-101 victory over Washington.
Analyse
Towns registered his 33rd double-double of the campaign, and the 19 points were his most since the Jan. 19 loss to Dallas. The star big man is having something of a down season by his lofty standards, but he remains as steady as they come from a fantasy perspective. Over his last seven contests, Towns is averaging 13.3 points, 13.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.1 three-pointers in 26.6 minutes per game.
