Analyse
Head coach Mike Brown trimmed his rotation Monday, using nine players, with eight of them playing at least 19 minutes. Alvarado ended up losing hold of his spot on the second unit, with Brown leaning on Miles McBride and Landry Shamet as the team's reserve guards. Analyse
Alvarado moved into the starting lineup, replacing Jalen Brunson, who was ruled out due to ankle soreness. While this was an encouraging performance, it is likely that Brunson was merely getting some rest, given the opponent. Assuming Brunson returns for Friday's game against the Bulls, managers don't need to chase this performance by Alvarado.

Analyse
This was a terrific showing for Alvarado in a very limited role off the bench. Miles McBride (pelvis) suffered a setback in the loss and will miss Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies, and Jalen Brunson (ankle) is questionable. That means Alvarado could be in line for a healthy workload against Memphis.
