Analyse
The Grizzlies were without Ja Morant (hamstring), but his presence wouldn't have altered the outcome. Bane's numbers were below his usual averages, and he led a group struggling to find traction against the Trail Blazers. Bane and Jaren Jackson were the only starters to score in double-digits, and the team abandoned the first unit once the game got out of hand. Bane scored a season-high 44 points in the loss, finishing five points shy of his career-high mark (49). He soaked up some additional usage due to Ja Morant (hamstring) and Santi Aldama (calf) being on the sidelines, and it's unclear if those two will be ready in time for Wednesday's game versus Portland. Bane is on pace to return third-round value in nine-category formats this season with 22.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.3 steals, 1.6 blocks and 1.9 three-pointers.

Analyse
The Grizzlies were without Ja Morant (shoulder) in this game, but that didn't prevent them from securing a huge win, and Bane played a pivotal role in the victory. Luke Kennard started in place of Morant, meaning Bane operated as the primary playmaker and finished just two assists away from a triple-double. Bane has been playing at a high level of late and is averaging 21.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, 6.0 assists and a combined 1.7 steals-plus-blocks in eight outings this month.

Bane posted 12 points (5-16 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 0-1 FT), six rebounds and three assists across 26 minutes during Friday's 133-124 loss to the Cavaliers.
Analyse
Ja Morant led the way for the Grizzlies with an outstanding 44-point effort, but Bane, who has found a way to step up on a regular basis in recent weeks, was unable to follow suit. The veteran forward had a rough showing on offense, and at least from an efficiency perspective, this was one of his worst outings of the campaign. Bane is still averaging a solid line of 20.9 points, 8.4 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game since the beginning of March, so he should find a way to bounce back sooner than later -- possibly against the Heat on Saturday in the second leg of this back-to-back set.
