Russell will not play in the Lakers' preseason finale versus the Warriors for rest purposes, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports.
Analyse
Russell will be rested along with all the other expected starters for Los Angeles. Thus, he will presumably be ready to start at point guard in Tuesday's tilt with the Timberwolves to tip off the regular season.

Analyse
Russell struggled with his shot but excelled as the team's primary ball distributor. Russell hasn't posted much offensive production in the preseason, but he'll get a substantial minute increase when the regular season begins, allowing for more opportunities.
