Steps up in Game 5 win
Johnson finished Monday's 125-113 win over Minnesota in Game 5 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs with 18 points (8-13 FG, 2-7 3Pt), six rebounds, five assists and three steals over 36 minutes.
Analyse
Johnson bounced back after tepid single-digit scoring totals in Games 3 and 4 against Minnesota. The trade for Johnson has been a net negative for the Nuggets. Michael Porter's impressive totals this season with the Nets probably generate some buyer's remorse within the organization, but Monday's result was more in line with what was expected from Johnson. Denver has fallen behind in this series due to a lack of production from the supporting cast, and the balanced outcome from Johnson and Spencer Jones produced the desired result.

Tamped down in defeat
Johnson logged nine points (3-6 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), two rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal across 27 minutes during Saturday's 112-96 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Analyse
Johnson's production has slowed in the first round, averaging only 10.0 points, 1.5 assists, 1.3 rebounds, and 0.8 steals over four games against the Timberwolves. Although Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray are propping up the team with stellar production, the two superstars need more help from the supporting cast. Right now, Johnson isn't holding up his end of the bargain. The Nuggets will face elimination Monday night, and the pressure will be on Johnson, Christian Braun and Aaron Gordon to deliver better results.

Only six points in Game 3 loss
Johnson produced six points (2-6 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one steal over 24 minutes during Thursday's 113-96 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Analyse
Johnson couldn't get anything going on the offensive end, although he was certainly not alone, as Denver was soundly beaten by Minnesota on the road. On the whole, it's been a mediocre season for Johnson, who is averaging just 12.1 points and 2.0 three-pointers in 57 total appearances.
