The Royals recalled Loftin from Triple-A Omaha on Friday.

Analyse

Loftin will replace Vinnie Pasquantino (thumb) on the active roster as Pasquantino heads to the injured list. Loftin has been with Omaha since July 30 and is slashing .199/.294/.248 with Kansas City this season. The 25-year-old should see plenty of work at first base, though the Royals should give Salvador Perez some opportunities at the position.
