Vargas suffered the injury on a collision with Andrew Benintendi while chasing down a pop fly during the second inning of Tuesday's contest. Should Vargas need to sit out Wednesday's game, Lenyn Sosa would be the favorite to pick up a start at third base.

Vargas has struggled since being dealt to the White Sox, as he has collected only eight hits across 76 at-bats with one homer, four RBI and five runs scored.
