Big impact in lineup return
DeLauter went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and three RBI in Friday's 4-1 win over the Cubs.
Analysis
DeLauter fouled a ball off of his foot Tuesday against the Dodgers and had been out of the lineup since, but he returned in a big way Friday. The 24-year-old drove in three of the four runs scored by the Guardians with the biggest swing being a two-run home run to extend the Guardians lead from one to three. It's DeLauter's fifth home run on the young season, tied for the most in MLB alongside Shea Langeliers.

Returns to Guardians' lineup
DeLauter (foot) will start at designated hitter and bat second in Friday's game versus the Cubs.
Analysis
DeLauter had to depart Tuesday's game against the Dodgers after fouling a ball off his foot. X-rays came back clean, and he's feeling well enough to serve as the DH as the Guardians kick off their first homestand of the season.

Absent from Wednesday's lineup
DeLauter (foot) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.
Analysis
DeLauter was forced to depart Tuesday's contest versus Los Angeles after fouling a ball off his left foot. X-rays came back negative, but with the Guardians having an off day looming Thursday, it makes sense to hold DeLauter out Wednesday for the final game of the road trip and give him two straight rest days. Angel Martinez will patrol right field and bat second for Cleveland in the rubber match.

X-rays negative
X-rays on DeLauter's left foot came back negative after his removal from Tuesday's game against the Dodgers, Paul Hoynes of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Analysis
DeLauter had to leave Tuesday's contest after fouling a ball off his foot in the first inning, but he appears to have escaped the incident with nothing more than a bruise. The Guardians may leave the rookie outfielder out of the starting nine for a day or two as a precaution, but a trip to the injured list likely won't be necessary. Angel Martinez and Daniel Schneemann would be next in line to start in the outfield should DeLauter miss time.

Exits with foot injury
DeLauter was removed from Tuesday's game against the Dodgers with a left foot injury, SI.com reports.
Analysis
DeLauter fouled a ball off his left foot during the first inning of Tuesday's contest and immediately headed into the Guardians' clubhouse. The team will presumably send the outfielder, already known for a history of injuries, for imaging to determine whether he suffered any structural damage. Should he need to miss any additional time, Angel Martinez and Daniel Schneemann would be candidates to pick up extra reps in the outfield.

Launches another long ball
DeLauter went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in a 6-5 extra-inning win over the Mariners on Saturday.
Analysis
DeLauter looked like he could be stymied for the first time this season when he went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts over his first four plate appearances. However, the rookie saved his best for last, belting a two-run homer off All-Star reliever Andres Munoz in the 10th inning for what ended up being the decisive hit. DeLauter has now homered in the first three regular-season games of his career, and he's the early league leader with four home runs to go along with a gaudy .357/.357/1.214 slash line.
