Back from paternity leave
The Dodgers reinstated Snell from the paternity list Tuesday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Analyse
After heading out on paternity leave Saturday, Snell will now rejoin the team with plenty of time to spare before he makes his next start Friday against the Diamondbacks. The 32-year-old lefty gave up two earned runs over seven innings and took the loss during his last time out in San Diego, but he still boasts an impressive 1.97 ERA on the year through 32 innings across six starts. Alex Vesia (oblique) was placed on the injured list in a corresponding move.

Snell was stuck with a loss in Friday's start, and he'll step away from the team temporarily for personal reasons. The move shouldn't impact Snell's next start, as MLB rules dictate he can only be on the paternity list for up to three days. The Dodgers activated Kirby Yates (back) from the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move.

Analyse
Snell put up his second consecutive quality start, but Yu Darvish was just a bit better for the Padres. Both runs against Snell came in the fourth inning -- he had posted 16 consecutive scoreless frames dating back to the tail end of his Aug. 2 start versus the Rays. He's in fine form despite a lengthy absence due to a shoulder injury. Through six starts, he has a 1.97 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 30:15 K:BB across 32 innings. The southpaw's next start is projected to be at home versus the Diamondbacks.
