Probable for Wednesday
Johnson is probable for Wednesday's game against the Rockets due to back spasms.
Analyse
Johnson came away with the issue in Monday's loss to the Thunder, but he remains likely to play Wednesday. The 30-year-old forward has averaged 9.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.3 three-pointers in 30.3minutes per contest in his last eight games, shooting a woeful 33.3 percent from the field during this stretch.

Returns for fourth quarter
Johnson (back) started the fourth quarter of Monday's game against the Thunder, per the television broadcast.
Analyse
Johnson left the matchup during the third period due to back spasms, but he was cleared to return for the final 12 minutes of play. He wasn't moving quite like himself, according to Vinny Benedetto of The Denver Gazette, so it remains to be seen whether he'll be able to close this one out.

Dealing with back spasms
Johnson is questionable to return to Monday's game against the Thunder due to back spasms.
Analyse
Johnson went to the locker room during the third quarter, and it's not yet clear if he'll return to Monday's tilt. Tim Hardaway and Julian Strawther would see more time in the frontcourt if Johnson is shut down for the evening.

Delivers five dimes in return
Johnson (ankle) recorded 10 points (4-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five assists, three rebounds and one steal across 22 minutes Friday in the Nuggets' 142-103 loss to the Knicks.
Analyse
Considering the limited run he received in the blowout loss, Johnson provided some solid all-around production, but it's difficult to be bullish about his outlook moving forward even though he's moved past the ankle injury that kept him out the previous two contests. In addition to Johnson, the Nuggets welcomed Aaron Gordon (hamstring) back from a 17-game absence Friday, and with Peyton Watson (hamstring) also closing in on a return, a depleted Denver forward group will soon be back to full strength. Johnson could struggle to settle back into a regular 25-plus-minute role once that happens, as Gordon and Watson have both handily outperformed him when healthy this season and may be prioritized ahead of Johnson when all three players are available. Even while averaging 30.6 minutes per game over his 38 appearances on the season, Johnson's per-game marks of 11.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.8 three-pointers haven't been strong enough to make him a must-roster player in 12-team leagues.

Will play vs. New York
Johnson (ankle) is available for Friday's game against New York.
Analyse
Johnson will shake off his questionable tag and return from a two-game absence due to right ankle inflammation. With the 30-year-old forward back in action, there will be fewer minutes available for guys like Julian Strawther, Bruce Brown and Tim Hardaway. Johnson has averaged 10.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 33.0 minutes per contest over six appearances since the All-Star break.

Listed as questionable
Johnson (ankle) is questionable for Friday's game against the Knicks.
Analyse
Johnson remains day-to-day after missing the past two games for Denver. Aaron Gordon (hamstring) is also questionable for Denver. If the team is shorthanded again, Julian Strawther could pick up another sizable workload Friday.

Not playing Thursday
Johnson (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Lakers, Brendan Vogt of TheDNVR.com reports.
Analyse
Johnson will miss a second consecutive game due to a right ankle injury that he picked up during the Nuggets' loss to the Timberwolves on Sunday, and his next chance to play is Friday against the Knicks. Tim Hardaway, Julian Strawther and Jonas Valanciunas should continue to operate in elevated roles for as long as Johnson is sidelined.

Questionable for Thursday
Johnson (ankle) is questionable for Thursday's game versus the Lakers.
Analyse
Johnson sat out the second leg of a back-to-back set in Monday's win over the Jazz, and now he's in danger of missing a second straight game with Thursday's match being the first of a back-to-back. If he's out again, that would create more opportunity for Tim Hardaway, Bruce Brown and Julian Strawther.
