Time to pull back the curtain – here’s your guide to the Sorare NBA 2024-25 Season card launch:

2024-25 Card Reveal

The Sorare Design team spearheaded the creative direction for our 2024-25 Cards, drawing inspiration from NBA Championship Rings to evoke victory and prestige through angular lines that add bold, aggressive edges to the design.

Throughout the design process, we actively engaged with Sorare NBA Managers and NBA fans worldwide. Their feedback touched on everything from aesthetics and legibility to mobile compatibility and essential details. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with Managers expressing genuine appreciation for the sharp, aggressive look we envisioned.

As the new season tips off, we’re excited to unveil the latest Sorare NBA cards—now with brand-new stat-tracking card backs! The 2024-25 Cards feature stat trackers on the back of all Pro cards, providing deeper insights and strengthening your connection to each player in your collection. Every time a card is used in a lineup, a chapter in its story is told.

The 2024-25 cards will track the following stats from both Pro and Daily Competitions:

• Player name
• Owner name
• How the card was obtained:
  • Rewarded
  • Crafted
  • Exchanged on Manager Sales
  • Bought through Auction
  • Bought through Instant Buy
• Date on which it was obtained
• Number of times the Card is put in a lineup
• Number of times the Card is in a lineup that gets rewarded
• The highest score the Card scored when played

Please note, once a card is traded all of its stats will reset to 0.

These new card backs are designed not just to enhance your Marketplace experience but to deepen your relationship with every card. Now, you can easily track your accomplishments with each 2024-25 card, making every Game Week that much more memorable!

Launch day: October 15th 

Mark your calendars! Sorare NBA will officially launch new season cards on Monday, October 15th. On this day, the 2024-25 cards will hit the marketplace, and the lobby will open with the first competitions of the new season.

Be on the lookout for special offers and promotions when we open up! You won’t want to miss your chance to improve your gallery even further.

Note that after October 11th, no 2023-24 season cards will be released—whether by auction or as rewards.

Essence and The Card Factory

Essence and the Card Factory are debuting in the 2024-25 Sorare NBA season, adding a new way for you to win. 

Essence is a new in-game resource in Sorare that allows managers to craft Pro Cards in the Card Factory. This system introduces a mechanic where Managers can win Essence in competitions and use them to craft the Card of their dreams, giving Managers more control over how they collect, play, and win.

Through Pro and Daily Hoops gameplay, Managers will have the chance to accumulate Essence every day there’s a slate of NBA games. In order to start crafting in the Card Factory, Managers must reach specific Essence milestones:

Each milestone offers Managers improved chances at crafting better Pro Cards:

We’re extremely excited about flexibility and expanded access the Card Factory offers to Managers. Essence won through competitions is just another step towards Managers building their ultimate Sorare collection.

In order to allow tiers to adequately populate, we will prevent crafting until the first Game Week locks on October 22. Managers will still be allowed to accumulate essence through events like  promotions between October 15 & October 22.

Please note Essence accumulation rates are subject to change as we monitor the Card economy. We will monitor and adjust if necessary, with ample communication ahead of time.

A Note on L10s

As a reminder, here’s how we handle rookies and players without a game in the previous NBA season:

• If a player hasn’t played in the previous NBA season or has never appeared in an NBA game, their 10-game average will start at zero.
• If a player hasn’t played in the current or previous season, they will also start with a zero average.
• Players with fewer than 10 games played will have a 10-game average score, calculated based on the average of their scores across the number of games they’ve played.

Common Cards

Alongside the launch of the 2024-25 Marketplace, Managers can start assembling their Common Team! As part of this update, all 2023-24 Common Cards will be retired. Managers will be prompted to restart their Common Collection.

Managers will kick off their Common gallery building by choosing a star player and their favorite team. From there, you’ll receive a pack featuring 10 players across tiers, giving you a balanced squad to begin your journey.

Common Market

Introducing a new Common Market, designed to give more control and flexibility when managing Common Cards. With an enhanced interface that mirrors the Marketplace, Managers can now scout cards using detailed filters like player stats, team, and L10 scores, allowing for a more immersive and strategic scouting experience.

Drop Common cards to accumulate a non-expiring balance of Points that can be used to Add new Common Cards. This feature empowers Managers to build stronger rosters for upcoming competitions or collect their favorite players, bringing scouting to the center of Common in Sorare NBA. We’re excited about how this can help new Managers build confidence early in their Sorare journey.

Please note Common Cards are not transferable peer-to-peer.
