Nearing return to game action
Middleton (ankle) is targeting a return to game action sometime after Thanksgiving Day, Shams Charania reported Tuesday on ESPN's "NBA Today" program.
Analysis
For the first time in his long recovery process from bilateral ankle surgeries, Middleton took part in full 5-on-5 scrimmage work during Monday's practice. Charania relays that Middleton has been medically cleared to play, but the veteran wing is now working on his conditioning and will remain out for a few more games before making his 2024-25 debut. Middleton appeared in 55 games for the Bucks last season and averaged 15.1 points, 5.3 assists, 4.7 rebounds, 1.7 three-pointers and 0.9 steals in 27.0 minutes per game. The 33-year-old will likely be subject to a minutes restriction once he's officially cleared to play and could see his playing time ramp up slowly.

Remains out
Middleton (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Heat.
Analysis
Middleton continues to be limited in his rehab and doesn't have a return timetable. He can be considered doubtful for future contests, barring a return to full-contact drills. Andre Jackson and Taurean Prince (illness) have seen increased roles in Middleton's prolonged absence.

Still sidelined
Middleton (ankle) won't play in Saturday's game against Charlotte.
Analysis
As expected, Middleton won't suit up Saturday. The 32-year-old has been medically cleared but remains without a timetable for return. He's yet to appear in a game this season, and his next chance to do so will come Tuesday against Miami.

Another absence coming
Middleton (ankle) won't play in Friday's game versus the Pacers.
Analysis
Despite being medically cleared to play, Middleton has yet to make his 2024-25 debut while recovering from surgery on both ankles. Fantasy managers can consider the veteran forward doubtful to play in Saturday's matchup with Charlotte.

Medically cleared, but not 100 percent
Middleton (ankles) has been medically cleared for a "period of time" but isn't yet feeling physically ready to make his 2024-25 debut, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Analysis
Middleton had offseason surgery on both of his ankles but hasn't progressed as well as initially expected. Head coach Doc Rivers said Oct. 12 that he expected the 33-year-old wing to be available for the Bucks' regular-season opener, but Middleton hasn't been labeled as anything other than out on the team's official injury reports over the past month. While the news that Middleton has received medical clearance is somewhat encouraging, it's unknown when he'll feel ready for game action, leaving fantasy managers who selected him in drafts in a bit of a bind. Expect Andre Jackson, AJ Green and Taurean Prince to continue to see expanded roles until Middleton is back.
