Undergoes arthroscopic surgery

The Raptors announced Brown underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, and he will be re-evaluated in three weeks, Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun reports.

Analysis

Brown will be re-evaluated in three weeks, meaning he is more than likely to be held out of the team's preseason opener against the Wizards on Oct. 6. The 28-year-old said that the lingering knee issue affected his play starting in December of last season, during which he averaged 10.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists across 27.9 minutes in 67 appearances (44 starts). If Brown misses additional time, Gradey Dick (ankle) will likely pick up extra minutes and could secure the starting job.
