Grabs fifth save
Doval earned the save in Thursday's 6-5 win over the Brewers, allowing one hit and one walk in a scoreless ninth inning. He did not record a strikeout.
Analysis
Doval entered the ninth inning tasked with preserving the Giants' one-run lead. He issued a walk to Caleb Durbin and a double to Christian Yelich, but Doval was able to get Rhys Hoskins to fly out to come away with the save. Doval is up to five saves on the season, three of which have come over his last three outings, and he's tied with Ryan Walker for most saves on the Giants. Doval has a 2.25 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 8:5 K:BB over 12 innings this season.

Doval picked up the save in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Brewers after recording two outs in the ninth inning, striking out one.
Analysis
Ryan Walker was able to log just one out before being pulled from a non-save situation, allowing two runs on three hits to make it a 4-2 game. That created a save situation for Doval, who fired each of his five pitches for strikes to tally his fourth save of the year. Both Walker and Doval have received six save chances apiece to begin the campaign, so this hierarchy atop San Francisco's bullpen has been more of a committee than expected so far. Doval has a 2.45 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 8:4 K:BB while converting four of his six save chances over 11 innings.

Notches third save
Doval earned a save against the Brewers on Monday, striking out one batter in a perfect ninth inning.
Analysis
The Giants held a comfortable three-run lead when Doval entered in the ninth frame, and the righty reliever worked quickly to end the contest, needing just seven pitches to retire the side in order. He got the save chance in part because Ryan Walker was unavailable after pitching on back-to-back days and throwing 25 pitches in a blown save Sunday. Despite that blow-up, Walker remains the Giants' primary closer, though Doval looks to be first in line for spare save chances given that he's gone 3-for-3 in such opportunities and has a 2.61 ERA overall on the season.
