What is the 'Points Cap' and 'MVP' in Sorare NBA?

Each Sorare NBA competition has a Points Cap, and your lineups cannot exceed the Points Cap.

Each player card has a Sorare Points Per Game average that counts toward the Points Cap for each competition.

A player's Points average is determined by the average score of their 10 most recent games. This is known as their L10.

For example, Donovan Mitchell's L10 is 45  Screenshot 2024-10-20 at 1.39.33 PM.png

There are 4 different Sorare NBA competitions, each with its own Points Cap and MVP rule sets.

Underdog: Cap 75, no MVP.
Contender: Cap 120, no MVP.
Champion: Cap 120, MVP enabled.
Tip-Off: Cap 120, MVP enabled.

In competitions where MVP is enabled, the player card you select with the highest L10 average will be automatically marked as your MVP. The MVP does not count toward your Points Cap, generally making it ideal for lineups that have 'expensive' L10s.

For example, this Donovan Mitchell card with an L10 of 45 in a Contender competition (no MVP) would result in 120-45 = 75 Points remaining for the 4 remaining slots. However, the same Donovan Mitchell card's L10 of 45 in a Champion competition (MVP enabled) would be designated as the MVP, assuming it is the card with the highest L10 average. This results in 120 Points remaining for the 4 remaining slots in your lineup.

The player card you select with the highest Sorare Points Per Game average will be automatically marked as your MVP. The MVP does not count toward your Points Cap.
