At Sorare, fair competition is at the heart of everything we do—and the past few weeks have not met the standard we hold ourselves to. We are deeply grateful for the passionate, engaged community that continues to support the game, stays vigilant, and shares our commitment to fairness and the long-term growth of the game.

We want to be fully transparent about the issues that impacted Sorare MLB over the last couple of weeks, the actions we’ve already taken, and the steps we’re taking next to make things right.

⚠️ What Happened

• Energy Exploit: A bug allowed Managers to regain excess Energy by listing or reusing cards from submitted lineups—even after player lock. This was fixed for all competitions by April 17.
  
• Lineup Override Exploit: Another bug allowed some Managers to swap players in Daily lineups post-lock. This was resolved on April 25 before lock.
  
• Abuse & Account Action: A very select few accounts intentionally exploited both bugs at the expense of competitive balance.  These accounts have been banned as of April 25 for violating our competitive integrity standards.

While a small number of Managers clearly exploited these bugs, there were also some unintentional beneficiaries (to a lesser degree). We are focused on ensuring that we rectify the situation thoughtfully and fairly.

✅ What We’re Doing

We are taking immediate actions to restore fairness and trust:

• Excess Energy Removal: Excess Energy gained through the exploits will be removed before the next Biweekly competition locks on April 28. Affected users will be notified and warned, but not banned unless future abuse occurs in other ways.
  
• Reward Corrections: We are manually reissuing the correct Daily Derby rewards dating back to April 12. Some users may receive double rewards to ensure rightful winners are not penalized. This will be completed by May 2.
  
• Community Airdrop: As a gesture of appreciation for your ongoing engagement, 1,000 Limited Essence will be airdropped to every Manager who submitted a Limited+ lineup since April 12. This will also be completed by May 2.

🛠️ How We’re Strengthening the Platform

Beyond patching the identified issues:

• Auditing our systems to ensure there are no more issues related to lineup building and editing
• Enhancing our systems to better monitor Energy transactions and detect suspicious activity

We know that building trust takes time and consistent action. While we can’t undo the issues that occurred, we are committed to learning from them and improving the Sorare experience every week moving forward.
