With the NBA Finals wrapped up, it means our least favorite time of the basketball calendar is upon us: the end of the Sorare NBA 2023-24 Season. But everyone knows that championship teams are built in the offseason. That’s why we’re already hard at work preparing for 2024 – 2025. 

But first: we want to hear from you! Be on the lookout for an email from Sorare that contains an end-of-season survey. Your feedback is critical to shaping the 2024-25 season. If you’d like to participate but can’t locate the email, reach out to our Help Center so we can get you involved. 

Now, let’s take a look back at the 2023-24 season, review what you can expect this offseason, and peel the curtain back on our key focus areas for next season.

Sorare NBA Championship Chase

With the NBA playoffs wrapped up, we want to give another shout out to the winners of the Championship Chase. These Managers continually submitted the best lineups over the course of 2+ months! Next season, they will be enjoying a VIP Experience at the Emirates Cup, the NBA Paris Game, or NBA All Star Weekend. Congratulations!

2023-24 Season Recap

This Sorare: NBA season was all about continuing to reward the passion of basketball fans around the world.

Throughout the season, we rolled out several exciting product updates to enhance your gameplay experience. This included the introduction of the In-Season Tournament, a month-long competition where Managers competed for a share of $100,000 and exclusive signed merch.

We also shook things up with a fresh slate of Special Weeklies, offering unique challenges and prizes from Game Week 29 to the end of the regular season. Our favorites included: Rookies Only, Points Free, and Dishing Dimes.

Not only did we introduce new ways to play, but also exciting new ways to collect. The launch of the Collection Game brought a whole new strategy to Sorare NBA, enabling avid collectors to excel. 

To celebrate the NBA’s marquee events, we created special edition cards commemorating the year’s most significant moments. This year, Managers had the opportunity to collect three special editions: Christmas Day Special Editions, All Star Special Editions, and Championship Chase Special Editions.

In total, we rewarded over $500,000 to tens of thousands of Managers who also won rewards like Pro Cards, game tickets, NBA gift cards, and much more – including signed merchandise from some of the biggest names in the League. 

We saw NBA legends alongside some legendary Managers. While in Paris we hosted a variety of events and held a Q&A at our headquarters with Rob Perez, Cam Johnson, and Mikal Bridges. 

This Sorare NBA season was a thrilling journey that brought together the passion of basketball fans with innovative gameplay and collection opportunities. We celebrated with special edition cards, unique challenges, and rewarding experiences, making it an unforgettable season for all Managers involved. We can’t wait to get things rolling again next season.

Offseason Plans

During this offseason period, we will have a reduced auction schedule over the next three months. Managers will still be able to tactically add to their Collections in preparation of the new season.

Over the summer, the NBA product will transition to the same infrastructure as Football and MLB. This shift will streamline feature development, allowing us to deliver updates consistently and efficiently.

Unfortunately this means we won’t be offering offseason gameplay. But as they say: good things take time. Take a look below to see what else we’ll be working on.

Looking Ahead 

We’re already hard at work on plans for next season. Here’s what we’re cooking for the 2024-25 season: 

We’ll be making numerous improvements to our competition structure, with the aim to give you more ways to play your full gallery. This includes assessing and adjusting our core competitions, introducing more competitions, applying In-Season Card requirements to select competitions, and continuing a robust program of Special Weekly competitions to give you more lineup-building challenges.

In support of this evolving competition structure, we’ll be introducing new rewards to Sorare NBA – Reward Boxes, and Essence. Reward Boxes will allow us to provide more Managers with the experience of being rewarded for their performance, and Essence will provide Managers with the opportunity to craft their own Sorare NBA cards! Additionally, as the game on the court evolves, our game will be evolving as well. To make Sorare NBA as fun and engaging as ever, we’ll be developing new ways for Managers to build teams, compete against other Managers, and win amazing rewards, every single day.

Finally, in our ongoing commitment to improving the Manager experience, we’re focused on simplifying and streamlining all aspects of Sorare NBA. Over the offseason, we’ll be making improvements to the onboarding experience for new Managers. This will make it easier than ever to convince your friends and family to get a piece of the action.  We’ll also be continuing our work to level up the Sorare mobile app, so that you can be a part of the action anytime, anywhere.
