The 23-year-old guard will end the regular season averaging career highs in points (18.3), assists (5.3), steals (1.5) and minutes (37.4), along with 7.8 rebounds and 0.6 blocks per game across a career-high 79 outings.

Thompson amassed 41 points (17-22 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 7-7 FT), nine rebounds, seven assists and two steals across 42 minutes during Friday's 136-132 loss to the Timberwolves.

Although Thompson finished with his highest scoring total of the season, the Timberwolves snapped Houston's eight-game winning streak. Amazingly, Thompson arrived at his voluminous total without any help from bonus points beyond the arc. All of Thompson's 17 baskets came from inside the perimeter. The Rockets are locked into the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference, so it wouldn't be surprising if Thompson and other Houston regulars play fewer minutes than usual or are held out altogether for the team's regular-season finale Sunday.

The third-year guard has been rock solid for the Rockets down the stretch. Thompson has scored at least 14 points in eight straight games, averaging 18.4 points, 6.9 boards, 5.6 assists and 2.0 steals over that span while shooting 56.4 percent from the floor as Houston tries to chase down Denver and the Lakers for the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference.

Turns in double-double for the win
Thompson registered 22 points (10-16 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, eight assists, one block and three steals across 36 minutes during Tuesday's 119-105 win over the Suns.
Analiz
Thompson was just two assists shy of a triple-double in the win. The third-year pro had trouble defending Devin Booker and former teammate Jalen Green, but the Suns also had trouble defending Thompson, who enjoyed an accurate shooting night and an excellent result in secondary categories. Although Thompson's scoring totals have been up and down, he's shown to be very adept at racking up ancillary numbers, averaging 8.0 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 1.5 steals over the past 10 games.
