Out with elbow inflammation
The Athletics placed Newcomb on the 15-day injured list Saturday with left elbow inflammation.

Newcomb's move to the injured list will ensure he remains out for the rest of the season, putting a stamp on his campaign after he turned in a 2.73 ERA and 1.35 WHIP across 92.1 total innings between the Red Sox and A's.
