Sorare NBA: Upgrade, Hold, and Downgrades
While we’re beginning a new calendar year, we’re in the thick of the current NBA season. You need not start your Sorare NBA lineups anew, but you also don’t have to let them stagnate. With that in mind, I have an upgrade, a hold, and a downgrade for you to consider as you try to maximize your Sorare lineup.
Card prices shown reflect the most recent sale price for each player on the Sorare Marketplace as of December 30, 3 p.m. ET.
UPGRADE
Donte DiVincenzo, MIN ($10.51): As Karl-Anthony Towns took off with the Knicks, the Timberwolves’ end of that trade began to feel glaring in comparison. DiVincenzo, in particular, seemed to be struggling coming off the bench. Well, he’s now dropped over 20 points in two games in a row in the sixth-man role, garnering over 40.0 Sorare points each time. Equally as encouraging, DiVincenzo played over 30 minutes in both games, and that isn’t reflecting injuries pushing the former Knick’s minutes up. Has DiVincenzo found his footing with his new teammates? That could very well be the case.
HOLD
Myles Turner, IND ($3.39): Turner’s standout skill is blocking shots, and he’s primed to block two shots a game once again. Of course, that means a fair amount of games where he has one block, or none. Recently, Turner had a game with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks. He had 45.5 Sorare points. A couple games later he had 13 points and six boards with no blocks and 24.7 Sorare points. The Pacers big man has been scoring less this year, and while he contributes a lot defensively, that is limited his upside.
DOWNGRADE
Fred VanVleet, HOU ($19.29): There was going to be a time when the Rockets were turned over to the youngsters, and that time has perhaps arrived. VanVleet has had some big Sorare days, but his points and particularly his assists are down. His 6.0 dimes per game would be his lowest since 2018-19. My biggest concern, though, is a lack of efficiency. VanVleet has a .502 true shooting percentage, which is on the fringes of the bottom 10. His numbers are down, and his points are empty calories.
