Starting throwing progression soon
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said Friday that Rodriguez (elbow) should begin a throwing progression early next week, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

How long exactly it will take isn't clear, but it would seem to be a safe bet that Rodriguez will miss at least the first month or so of the season. Injection for elbow inflammation
Rodriguez was diagnosed with right elbow inflammation Sunday and will be shut down from throwing for 7-to-10 days after receiving a cortisone injection, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

The 25-year-old still doesn't appear to be dealing with any structural damage, but the elbow inflammation will shut him down for at least the next week.
